Tiramisu was the first dessert I learned to make as a teenager. This classic Italian treat is loved by children and people of all ages. Here is the recipe for the traditional, authentic version of tiramisu. Over the years, many variations and flavors have been added to the original, but personally, I prefer the classic recipe.

Ingredients
400g ladyfinger cookies (I usually use Vicenzovo)
400g mascarpone cheese
100g sugar
4 eggs
40g cocoa powder
2 cups of coffee
1 shot glass of Marsala wine
Directions
- Brew the coffee and let it cool.
- Separate the egg yolks and whites into two different bowls.
- Whip the yolks until light and foamy. Gradually add the sugar while beating with a hand mixer until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- Gently fold the mascarpone into the yolk mixture, stirring until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then carefully fold them into the mascarpone mixture.
- Mix the cooled coffee with Marsala wine.
- Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee-Marsala mixture, ensuring both sides are soaked but not overly soggy.
- In a square dish, create the first layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread a layer of mascarpone cream on top.
- Continue layering soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream, finishing with a final layer of mascarpone cream.
- Sprinkle cocoa powder evenly over the top layer.
- Refrigerate for at least a couple of hours before serving.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
